You know you're old when....

Kennady brought home from school a cute picture she'd drawn of the family. (I wanted to scan it and post it, but it has mysteriously disappeared). The kids were drawn from tallest to shortest with their correct ages listed above their heads. Next to Austin was Dave with his age listed at 58. Then next to him was a HUGE me with my age above my head--- 68!!!! I was telling Dave about it later and he simply said, "Well, you're larger than life to her." Yeah, that should make me feel better about being 7 years older than my parents! But somehow I'm not sure that it does. :)

There's a first for everything

So we've had FOUR kids and although we've had a few stitches and bumps and bruises, we've never had any foreign objects lodged up the nose until tonight. #4 gets the prize. Cydnee was playing with those little round plastic beads that you make into shapes and then iron so they fuse together. I was doing a puzzle nearby and she came over and started whining, asking me to "get it out of my nose." I looked up there with a flashlight, and sure enough she had a bead wedged clear up there. I kinda panicked for a minute and even tried to call a nurse to see what I should do. No one answered. It was too far to try and get out with tweezers or anything like that and I was afraid I'd get it stuck even further. She didn't like it much, of course. It took about 15 minutes of crying and trying to get her to blow it out into a kleenex, but it finally worked. What a little turkey. I don't think she'll be doing that again anytime soon.

Better late than never

I know this is so past the fact and Christmas seems like ages ago, but I thought I'd blog a few more Christmas pictures, particularly for Dave's sisters and brother we didn't get to see :( I keep thinking I'll get to the computer more often to stay updated, but it just doesn't seem to happen. I don't know how you guys do it. You are way better bloggers than I am!!!!

Christmas morning- Santa was good to us- especially to the boys. I had convinced them that there was absolutely NO WAY Santa was bringing them a Wii since he knows their mom didn't want one, but he brought one anyway and they were sooooo surprised.

Annual Christmas nativity with the Kimball cousins. You're a good sport, Uncle Phil!
My attempt at a nice Christmas dinner. I drag out the China only on very special occasions and Dave just rolls his eyes. He can't figure out why in the world I thought I needed that for our wedding.
Super star Dad made most of the meals at Christmas time and even spoiled us with apple pie on Christmas night!

Breakfast with Santa at the church.
